Shared ownership divides the use of a cottage into scheduled intervals.

Each interval provides five weeks of cottage use per year, including two fixed golf-season weeks and three rotating seasonal weeks.

Intervals are tied to a specific cottage and provide exclusive use of the property during scheduled weeks.

You can learn more about the structure in Shared Ownership Structure.

Shared Ownership vs Timeshare

Shared ownership and timeshare models are sometimes confused, but they operate differently.

In a traditional timeshare program, usage is often organized through points systems or large resort networks where availability may vary depending on demand.

Shared ownership at The Diamond is cottage-specific and interval-based. Owners hold the rights to scheduled weeks tied to a particular cottage and interval.

Ownership intervals may also be transferred or sold, allowing owners to maintain long-term flexibility.

Common Questions About Ownership

Understanding how ownership works helps families decide whether the structure fits their plans for cottage living.

  • Five weeks of annual cottage access
  • Fixed and rotating ownership weeks
  • Optional rental flexibility
  • Week exchanges between owners
  • Transferable ownership intervals

These features allow owners to enjoy cottage living while maintaining flexibility over time.

How Many Weeks Do Owners Receive

Each ownership interval provides five weeks of use per year.

Owners receive two fixed weeks during the golf season between May and October. These weeks remain the same each year and occur ten weeks apart.

In addition, owners receive three rotating weeks that occur in winter, spring, and fall.

Can Owners Rent Their Weeks

Yes. Owners may rent their scheduled weeks if they are unable to visit.

Owners may manage rentals independently and retain 100 percent of the rental revenue, or they may choose to have the resort assist with rentals.

When the resort assists with a booking, rental revenue is typically shared on a 50/50 basis.

Can Owners Exchange Weeks

Yes. Owners may exchange weeks with other owners within the same cottage.

These exchanges allow owners to adjust their schedules or visit during different seasonal periods when arrangements are made directly between owners.

Week exchanges do not affect the overall interval rotation system.

Can Intervals Be Sold

Ownership intervals may be sold or transferred.

Some owners choose to sell their interval through a real estate agent, while others transfer ownership to family members as part of long-term planning.

This flexibility allows ownership to adapt as circumstances change.
